A gym in downtown Szeged: what to expect
Where we are, when we are open, what is in the room and how your first week goes. A practical description of Forma 1 Fitness, without the marketing.
We are on the second floor of Attila utca 17–19, a few minutes from Kárász utca. A downtown gym, which means you can walk here after work, and also that parking is worth planning ahead.
Opening hours
- Monday–Friday: 06:00–21:30
- Saturday: 09:00–20:00
- Sunday: 14:00–20:00
The early opening is not a formality: there is life in the room at six in the morning. If your training falls in the morning, the morning pass is valid on weekdays between 6:00 and 14:00 and any time at weekends, the cheapest route if it fits your schedule.
Getting here and parking
You can park in the courtyard for 500 HUF per hour, or on the street at the city’s current rates, Attila utca is a yellow zone. If you can, walk or cycle: in the centre that is often faster anyway.
The exact location and map are on the Contact page.
What is in the room
Two worlds in one place, and you do not have to choose:
The gym floor. Walk in any time during opening hours, no booking. Machines, free weights, a cardio area. If you do not know where to start, ask any of our coaches, even if you are not training with them personally, they will happily show you how a machine is meant to be used.
The studios. Eleven class types run here, from TRX to yoga. These need to be booked in advance, because a class holds 8–20 people. Each one has its own page under Classes.
You do not need to bring equipment. The straps, the weights, the mats, the boxing gloves, we provide all of it.
What to bring
- Comfortable sportswear
- Clean indoor shoes, you cannot train in street shoes; this is about the floor and the people around you, not strictness
- A towel: we wipe the machines down after ourselves
- Water, or money for a drink at the desk
Changing room, locker, shower
There is a changing room and a shower. You get your locker key at the desk and hand it back when you leave, no coin needed, nothing to bring. Lockers are given out in order of arrival and only for the duration of your session: anything left overnight is removed.
Do not leave valuables in the locker. If you want a specific locker, a limited number can be rented for a fee.
When it is busy
Weekday evenings are the busiest, roughly after work, which is no surprise. If you are flexible, early morning and early afternoon are far quieter. The home page shows live how many people are inside right now, so it is worth a glance before you set off.
Your first week
The first session is usually the hardest, and not for training reasons: you do not know where to go, who to ask, or where things are. So on your first day, come to the desk and say you are new. We will show you the changing room, the lockers at the front desk, and you can ask the receptionist anything.
Entry takes care of itself after that: you register, an entry card arrives by email, you add it to your phone wallet and tap it at the front desk. We wrote that up step by step in a separate article.
The First visit page has every other practical detail, and the FAQ covers the common questions, from locker keys to pausing your pass.
