Boxing
Try our group boxing class in Szeged. Punching and defensive technique, footwork and conditioning at Forma 1 Fitness, beginners welcome.
Knock out the stress
Technique and conditioning together. You learn punch combinations, practise footwork and work on the bag or on pads, but you do not hit each other. This is a group boxing class, not fight preparation.
What kind of class is this?
Sixty minutes in three parts. A warm-up and skipping rope, then technique: stance, straight punch, hook, uppercut, guard, slipping. The class finishes with a conditioning block, bag work, rounds, core exercises.
Gloves and everything else are provided; you do not need to bring anything.
How do I know if it suits me?
If you have never boxed, this is a good way in: the first classes are about footwork and stance, not big punches. The technique builds slowly, and that is exactly what makes it safe.
People who arrive tense usually leave with a clearer head, in boxing, concentration is not optional: let your mind wander and the combination falls apart. For many, that side effect is worth more than the workout.
If you have had a shoulder, wrist or elbow injury, tell the instructor beforehand.
Why is it worth trying?
- You learn the basics of punching and defensive technique
- Serious conditioning work: your heart rate stays high throughout
- Develops coordination, rhythm and reaction time
- Hard to beat for releasing tension
- Nobody is made to fight anyone
